As Sundance Channel’s Rectify ended its limited first season run last night, critics gushed over with praise. One of the year’s best TV series and its most human, says AV Club’s Eric Adams. Alan Sepinwall of HitFix also names it one of the best of the year, noting that the most powerful scenes usually involved the lead character Daniel (played by Aden Young) alone. Matt Roush calls it brilliant but bleak. Zap2it’s Geoff Berkshire looks forward to the 10 episode second season, noting that creator Ray McKinnon has built a remarkably specific group of characters populating a unique world on TV.
